Murder. Missing people. Small-town secrets. Swamp legends. Southern charm and Louisiana Folklore.
Welcome to the world of Uncle Joe—where nothing is ever quite what it seems, and the deeper you dig, the darker it gets.
In this gripping collection, you'll find the first five books in the Tales from Uncle Joe series, where Louisiana native Joe Conrad—“Uncle Joe” to most—stumbles into a string of chilling mysteries stretching from the Carolinas back to the haunted backwoods of his bayou home. Whether it's a body in the marshy swamps, a cursed neighbor, or a legendary swamp monster leaving clawed-up corpses in its wake, Uncle Joe's good-natured wit, grit, and gumption will carry him—and you—through every strange twist and turn.
Blending the paranormal flair of The X-Files, the heart of Forrest Gump, and the raw rural grit of Sling Blade, these tales are soaked in Southern atmosphere, laced with witty humor, and brimming with unforgettable characters and terrifying truths.
If you're drawn to folklore, fringe mysteries, and tales soaked in swamp water and Southern soul, then saddle up in your Jon boat and take a ride with Uncle Joe—just don’t be surprised if what you find makes your skin crawl.
This is only the beginning. The South has many secrets . . . and Uncle Joe’s just getting started.

My name’s Joe Conrad. Peter Joseph Conrad to be precise, but most folks just call me Joe. ‘Cept for my nieces and nephews of course. They tend to call me Uncle Joe. I’ve seen quite a few things in my sixty-six years of living, but I tell ya what, I don’t think anything could’ve prepared me for what was awaitin’ me in the Carolinas.
If I’d known what was comin’ my way over the next few days, reckon I might’ve planned things some different. Never crossed my mind I’d be stirrin’ up trouble in the Carolinas. Usually, it’s back home in Louisiana where I find my share of fuss.
As Uncle Joe attempts to make his way back home to Louisiana after stumbling into Trouble in the Carolinas, he soon learns there is even more trouble waiting for him on the home front. With his crazy witch of a neighbor seeming to have placed a curse on him and his family, Joe enters uncharted waters to protect himself and everyone he holds dear.
After receiving a frantic call from his friend Alvin about a dead body with a bag of money out in the swamps, Joe heads up the bayou in his Jon boat to try and figure things out. The further he digs, the stranger things become. With more bodies showing with gruesome markings and injuries, rumors begin to spread of everything from a rogue Swamp Booger, the Rougarou, a Satanic Cult, or possibly the workings of a decades-old serial killer known as The Pale Skinned Man.
